Perspective
A clear, analytical view of how your business makes money — and what to do about it.
Perspective is a financial insights platform for owners and operators of small and mid-sized businesses. It replaces ad‑hoc spreadsheet tracking with a clean P&L view, period‑over‑period comparisons, scenario planning, and industry benchmark ratios. Bilingual English and Spanish.
What it shows
The dashboard is the starting point. It renders the P&L for the current quarter month by month, alongside the same months from the prior year and the full‑year totals. Filters above the grid switch the comparison axis, segment by line of business, and overlay industry benchmarks.
The benchmark overlay is its own panel. For each tracked ratio, the tenant’s value sits next to the industry median and the gap is shown explicitly — not as a green tick or a red cross, but as a number the operator can argue with.
Why it matters
A monthly number on its own is information. The same number compared to last quarter, last year, and the budget is a decision. Most operators we meet have the number — usually in a spreadsheet that someone updates by hand — but not the comparison. Perspective is built around the comparison.
Forecasts are more useful than budgets when they are kept honest. A budget set in November describes intentions; a Latest Estimate updated in March describes reality plus the remaining intent. Perspective treats those as different scenarios, not different versions of the same file, so the operator can see both at once and watch the gap close or widen as the year progresses.
Industry benchmarks turn an absolute number into a relative one. “Marketing spend is eight percent of revenue” is not a complete thought. “Marketing spend is eight percent of revenue against an industry median of eleven” is the start of a conversation.
How we work
Perspective is software, but it does not arrive as software typically does. We do not hand a customer a login and walk away.
A typical engagement begins with us mapping the customer’s existing financial data — accounting exports, bank statements, payroll records — onto the Perspective standard template. We build the recurring data pipeline that keeps the dashboard current. We configure scenarios — budget, forecast, latest estimate — alongside the operating team. And each month we review the resulting numbers with the customer’s leadership, not as software vendors but as advisors. The software is what makes the recurring work efficient. The advisory relationship is what makes the numbers useful.
